Keep your knees together while maintaining a neutral spine at all times.
Lower your body slightly and come up to a neutral position. Keep your arms at your side and your torso upright. Do not swing the jump rope in any direction in either the downward or upward direction. Keep your body in a neutral position. At the same time, your feet should be apart. If you begin to shift your jump rope too quickly, you may find that your knees bend. If the jump rope starts to shift more into the forward direction of movement, you may find that your knees get wider.
If you start to shift the jump rope too much in either of these directions, you may find that your legs begin to bend while you are trying to maintain a neutral spine. If you find you need to move your hips to make your arms stay parallel, don't worry about it too much. You can keep your torso upright by keeping your head up, and jump by leaning slightly in the direction that you want your arms to be moving. If you find that your legs begin to bend while you are trying to maintain a neutral spine. If you begin to shift your jump rope too quickly in one direction or in the other, you may find that your knees bend. If you try to use the momentum of your movement to help maintain more stability, you may find yourself moving in a direction that does not help you maintain a neutral spine.

If your head moves, you may find that you are shifting your jump rope too quickly, causing your knees to bend and your spine to straighten out. If you find that your jump rope shifts too quickly when you are shifting your knees, you may find it difficult to keep your knees and low back in a neutral position. If you find that your legs begin to bend while you are trying to keep them in a neutral position, try to relax your legs so that their movement just helps you maintain stability and a neutral spine.
